When Sheryl WuDunn and Nicholas Kristof released Half the Sky, it called the world to see the urgent realities facing women and girls—and to act.
In 2010, WAM Theatre’s founders, Kristen Van Ginhoven and Leigh Strimbeck, answered that call, asking how these global truths could live in our own community. WAM became a theatre where women’s stories are centered, celebrated, and transformed into catalysts for change.
Today, we continue that work: creating, listening, and mobilizing through art that inspires action. Every story we tell opens the door to a more just and compassionate world.
